Why You Should Go:

Get to know Wilkinsburg via an inside look at 25 of the borough’s historic landmarks, churches and mosques.

Blending noteworthy architecture, community arts programming and a sense of place, the free self-guided event is being hosted by the Office of Public Art, Neighborhood Allies and Austin, Texas-based artist Jennifer Chenoweth.

Featured sites include the Wilkinsburg Train Station, Mulberry Community Church, Community Forge, Yingling Mansion, Landmarks Preservation Resource Center and many others. Along the route, tour-goers will experience everything from steel drum and pipe organ performances to poetry readings to photography exhibits and more.

Docents will answer questions and provide information, and a free shuttle will travel between locations.
