With more than 700 public stairways and a whopping 44,645 steps, Pittsburgh boasts the most steps of any U.S. city. Think you could climb them all? Okay, how about the ones that grace the South Side, for starters.

Trek across the Pittsburgh neighborhood containing the most city steps during this iconic event that promotes community engagement, wellness and outdoor recreation. That means 2,000 stairs, 22 stairways, seven miles and three routes. While counting your steps, you’ll learn about local landmarks, see breathtaking views and snap iconic photos.

Stepping off at South Side Park (Josephine & 21st), the self-guided tour is open to all ages. Proceeds benefit the South Side Slopes Neighborhood Association and local charities.
