WHAT: Fall Flower Show
WHERE: Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens
WHEN: October 13 – November 4
Why You Should Go:
It’s no ordinary autumn at Phipps: the Oakland institution is turning 125 and has meticulously restored its grand Palm Court glasshouse.
To mark the milestone, Phipps is reinventing its beloved Fall Flower Show. You only have three weeks to see this spectacular show — which is as ephemeral as fall.
Be dazzled by 800 vibrant mums, sunken gardens and nostalgic nursery rhyme displays. Stroll amidst chrysanthemums blooming by the thousands, see exhibits spanning the decades and sign a giant birthday card.
Slither into the Serpentine Room for a Night of the Living Dead-themed experience populated by spooky plants, bats, tombstones, zombies and photos of the corpse flower named after filmmaker George Romero.
