Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra

If you have never spent an evening at Heinz Hall with the Symphony, you don’t know what you are missing.  The Pittsburgh Symphony is world class and is led by music director Manfred Honeck, who is also highly respected and world renown.  Be sure to view the performance schedule this season, and come and enjoy the wonderful acoustics and “sounds of the Symphony.”

Frick Art & Historical Center

Open to the public since 1990, the Frick Art and Historical Center is centered around “Clayton”, the mansion and Pittsburgh home of Henry Clay Frick and his family in the late nineteenth century.  Come enjoy a glimpse of the refined and cultured lifestyle of the Frick family in this historic setting.  Tours of Clayton are available, and admissions free for the Frick Art & Historical Center, Art Museum and the Car and Carriage Museum!  Reservations are recommended by not required.  Finish off your visit with a stop at the Frick Café and the Museum store.

Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra

Since 1969, the Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra has been providing concerts and outreach to the Greensburg and surrounding areas.  See what is happening this season at the WSO – a Chamber Music Series, Youth Orchestra Program, and special events with renowned musicians.

Apple Hill Playhouse

The Apple Hill Playhouse bills itself as the best little theater “in the country”.  The Orchard Performing Arts Company puts on several productions each year, and along with the productions for kids though the “Johnny Appleseed Children’s Theater”, there is always something going on.  Be sure to also check out the Lunch  / Dinner Packages in conjunction with the nearby Lamplighter Restaurant.

Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre

Nationality Rooms - University of Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh has always been a melting pot of world heritages, where traditional customs and ways are still celebrated. In this spirit, the University of Pittsburgh features 26 Nationality Rooms in the Cathedral of Learning. Each room, while serving as a student classroom, reflects the art, history and culture of a particular nationality. Many rooms were financed, designed and built by heritage groups many years ago.
