Advertising on swPenna.com
The new and growing site for activities, recreation and history
in Southwestern Pennsylvania!

INTRODUCTION
Southwestern Pennsylvania is loaded with places to see, visit, and learn about - all within a 2 hour drive from Pittsburgh. From high profile attractions such as Kennywood and Fallingwater to well-kept secrets such as the many country bed and breakfasts, this region truly has it all. However, it often seems as if many in the area do not fully realize the many things that exist nearby, an unfortunate downside of the strong community adhesion that characterizes western Pennsylvania.
One goal of swPenna.com is to act as a hub, a "one stop shop" to all that the region has to offer. We hope to entice people to explore the area. We want people to discover new attractions and recreation that may have been close to home all along.

WHY ADVERTISE ON SWPENNA.COM?
Simply put, there is no better way to reach your target audience. SwPenna.com's unique structure allows for easy navigation and exploration, while drawing the user to continue to surf. People who may be searching for a specific site or attraction can find your site just as easily!
Regional web sites have become one of the most popular types on the Internet. People want to have fun and enjoy themselves and are always looking for new ways to do so. The population in this region is no different. Attractions such as the Carnegie Science Center and Laurel Caverns are always popular and growing. Seasonal fairs and festivals are always hugely popular. It seems that in Pittsburgh, if you set up an Italian Sausage stand, sell some cool things and throw in some fireworks, you'll have people coming from all over the place! So become part of swPenna's advertising network, and we can help each other promote the region.

WAIT A SECOND...WHERE ARE THE OTHER ADVERTISERS?
By now you may be wondering where the banner ads are. What "network"? Well, this site is new and hasn't even been promoted at all yet. (By the way, YOU found it somehow, didn't you?) Despite this, search engines have been sending a bit of traffic this way, and our "META" tags aren't even optimized yet! This is encouraging. Once the site is a bit more developed, we will be promoting the site according to plan.

ADVERTISING OPTIONS AND RATES
There are many ways to advertise on swPenna.com. Namely, with banner ads, featured links, or by adding your own custom page to this site. First, the placement of hyperlinked banner ads is an excellent way to promote your web site and recreational / historical attraction. Ads can be placed on our regional page or on location / category specific pages. This allows you to target your audience to the level that you see fit. Banner ads must be in one of two standard sizes: Large (468 X 60 pixels) or Small (180 X 50 pixels). Rates will vary with size and placement location.
Every location or category specific page may have up to 5 "Featured Links" per page. These links are displayed prominently above the other links on the page, and have descriptions as well. Make your link stand apart from the crowd!
If you do not have a web site for us to link to, you can still be a part of swPenna.com. We can set up a simple page for you internally that can convey more information than a "Featured Link". Even if you do have a site, you can still have a swPenna page for increased exposure. An added benefit is that swPenna.com can then post many "unofficial" or related links about your site to this page.
Rates have not been set as of yet, especially since the site really hasn't officially been launched. We can tell you that, at least in the beginning, rates will be extremely CHEAP! Quite frankly, we want to attract advertisers. And to attract local advertisers in the realm of recreation or history, we will provide discounted rates for those such involved.
